An all new trailer for Diablo IV was shown during the 2022 Game Awar.
*understandably they were annoyed at the audience reaction, but shouting dont you have mobiles is not great pr. Watch as Inarius, Archangel of The High Heavens, challenges Lilith, Daughter of Hatred. Doing it the way they did it was a let down. Then give an exclusive blizzcon skin for it as well to at least hype it somewhat. Use it to build momentum by saying, guys we're working on something big for diablo that we arent quite ready to showcase, but to whet your appetite in the meantime, here's our new mobile game. Their best bet would've been to announce ahead of times that there would be no major Diablo announcements and put this up front rather than as a finisher to the announcements. We've had no real content updates for D3 in a while and content creators on YouTube were hyping a likely D4 or D2 remaster reveal at blizzcon cough Rhykker cough, so Blizz revealing a mobile remake of D3 wouldn't have blown the world up as an adjunct to a D3 expansion or D4 or D2Remastered, but as a solo reveal at a paid event, and with the less than stellar attitude by the devs to the boos* it was a cap to a very poor blizzcon that anyone with sense at Activision-Blizzard should've anticipated.
